Practical technology for your accounting
NZFA helps clients improve the way financial information is collected, organised and used in their accounting work. Our focus is practical: less repetitive administration, clearer records and better information for review and decision-making.
Depending on your engagement, we can discuss digital record collection, bookkeeping workflows, bank reconciliation and financial reporting. The tools and services used will depend on your requirements and the scope agreed with you.
Planned bank account connections
We are preparing an optional, read-only bank account connection service through Akahu to support the accounting work we perform for clients. This service is not currently open for general use.
The intended service will allow eligible clients to choose which supported accounts to share with NZFA. It will be used for agreed bookkeeping, reconciliation, tax preparation and financial reporting, not to initiate payments.
Historical coverage and update timing will depend on the bank and account. The intended update schedule is normally daily, not a guarantee of real-time information.
Before any client connection is activated, we will provide the relevant information, explain how to manage or withdraw access, and obtain the necessary authorisation.

Technology with human review
Digital tools can help organise information, but they do not replace professional judgement, supporting records or your review and approval of returns and reports. New tools or uses of information will be assessed against the agreed purpose and applicable privacy requirements.
